Great supernatural power can be found in those who return from one alive, and tokens gained from banishing the monsters within fetch a pretty penny from a variety of interested parties. Those inside find themselves in a lawless wasteland full of horrors, and dead men tell no tales.

Private organizations, fanatical religious groups, and governmental detachments have begun to respond, sending Hunters into these cursed locales to hunt down their most dreadful monstrosities. The players will begin as prospective members of one such organization, and will test their mettle against the horrors of the Deadzones, other Bounty Hunters, and the law as they seek to fulfill their bounty contracts.

Wicked Contracts is a Weird West D&D 5E campaign wherein the players will take on the role of supernatural bounty hunters in a twisted version of 1890s America. Paranormal disturbances referred to collectively as The Corruption have given rise to "Deadzones"—cursed areas wherein locals are transformed into monstrous creatures. The origins of these Deadzones are as of yet unknown.

With the Wild West's spirit rekindled by the promise of supernatural power and valuable bounty tokens from creatures within the Deadzones, various factions—including private organizations, governmental entities, and fringe religious groups—are sending Hunters into these treacherous vistas.

Players start at Level 1 as prospective recruits for the American Hunter Association (AHA), tasked with navigating the dangers of the Deadzones and confronting monstrous beings, rival hunters, and the law as they strive to complete their bounty contracts. With enough luck and grit, they may one day put a stop to the Corruption altogether.
